Architecture Paintings are now on sale at Exclusive Canvas Art.

Architecture Paintings are now on sale at Exclusive Canvas Art.

You can find some of the most amazing architecture paintings and art at Exclusive Canvas Art.

Take for example the Clock from Chicago's Marshall Fields (now called Macy) famous building. Tourists love this place since this is where the retail shopping experience began.

This historic building is on State street, near many of the famous theaters. Plays such as Adams Family were recently on tour here. Modern day shopping experiences were created here. This place was originally called Marshall Field & Co.

There is a small Chicago museum highlighting the history and spectaular things that Mr. Fields did for the world, the midwest, and Chicago. It's on the 7th floor of the shopping store.

You can, of course, have the world famous chocolate called Frango. Each mint is a work of art, and are the best thing around for a sweet tooth craving or a gift.

There still is the tea room or posh lunch. You can find it gets crowded in the walnit room during the holiday season. Everyone is there to see the tree and decorations.

Lastly you can get a chance to have a tour by the Architecture Foundation (Chicago ) once a month for five bucks. Pretty cheap.

Once your done, why don't you pick up a signed art print of the famous clock hanging over the corner of the building. It's done in spectacular greens, with a red American flag hanging in contrast.

Ultimate method of shopping for art with ease.

Gilad Shalit video גלעד שליט

גלעד שליט מהשבי
It has been 3 years for an Israeli defense force (IDF) Staff Sargent soldier named Gilad Schalit to have been held in Hamas captivity in what is believed to be the Gaza Strip. Friday afternoon video footage of the captive soldier was released to the media via Germany and after being flowen to his parents to be watched was subsequently aired on Israeli television channels, and released to the public media.

Recently completed painting of the Chabad Lubavitch Rebbe. Posted at Exclusive Canvas Art.

I have recently completed a painting of the Chabad Lubavitch Rebbe. It is posted at Exclusive Canvas Art.

The composition is different than those that are usually painted or taken with traditional photography.
It is a much closer and intimate with very little distractions.
You are zoomed up towards his extremely expressive eyes, and given a chance to glimpse his soul. The technical work is impressionistic and lends itself to have fewer details where necessary to assist eyes the movement around the painting. The color choices were cadmium yellow, cadmium orange, and red hue, with pthalo green and pthalo blue. The hat was completed in an expressive quality, and the beard is thick and 3d with a bas reliefe effect that can be touched. Please take a look at it.

(EDIT: The small version is currently on sale until the first month of the Jewish Calendar 5770 year is over! Enjoy your Yomim Tovim)

Since I usually don't post my religious paintings, I figured I would highlight a few of the other  Chabad artists. These are painters who are are recognizable by most Lubavitcher individuals by their works alone. Of course, there are other artists who are Chabad adherents.

I have also included a few select pictures of the rebbe to aid those who have never seen him before allowing for a comparative analysis.

Boruch Nachson is a Chassidic artist living in Chevron, Israel. He is known for his use of bright, vivid Acrylic paints and his ability to give form to mystical concepts.
http://www.kesser.org/gallery/nachshon/nachshon.html

Michoel Muchnik is a Chassidic artist living in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York. He is known for his use of soft pastel colors and for creating images that appeal to both child and adult alike.
http://www.kesser.org/gallery/muchnik/muchnik.html

Zalman Kleinman zt"l was a Chassidic artist living in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York. Unlike many other current Chassidic artists, who come from a Baaley Teshuva background, Zalman came from a family that has been with Chabad for many generations. He was a self-taught artist, who I have met with personally, and who embodied the true menchlichkeit and quiet sincerity of an elder Chabadnik. His artwork is stunning in its ability to be both life-like and 3 Dimensional.

Exciting to finally crawl out of the Google Wave dev Sandbox and into the live server. Plus a Special Google Art Piece is on the way!

Exciting to finally crawl out of the Google Wave dev Sandbox and into the live server. Plus a Special Google Art Piece is on the way!

Wow it sure has been an intense week. I had holidays every weekend for the past 3 weeks. No time to paint. No time to post anything new. No time to talk to the lithographers. No time to connect with some of my painting commissions. They are going to be mad.

Well, on top of all this I have been finally given my Google Wave invite. I was one of the 10,000 that was given developers access to the sandbox without being at the I/O conference with Lars. Now we are all being rolled over to the new Google Server or Federated System, if you will in a batch of 100,000. The invite came in the form of a new wave with a one time link, but I got to it later than most. What happened was that I was reading a Lifehacker article by Gina Trapani and it talked about using the with:public search to discover open public forums and discussions. Which, sure would have been great, and made the grueling talk of making new friends easier as I had done before knowing about this search term, but hey I can still do this on the public version of google wave.

This Search term feels like you are mainlining the buzz of the net. The old usenet boards were this way. You just jacked in and were overwhelmed by the sheer intensity and immense amount of noise. In this case you can interact live and that makes it all the more addictive and intense, there are also some levels of filtration and bots/users that can monitor things which can make the interactiveness of it all the more striking. However, in this case the boards are filled with techies and those who are seriously in the loop. Kind of like being invited to Silicone Valley and rubbing elbows with those who make things move through these inter-tubes. There are some more components at play here. Namely, that most of those chatting are those who are seeking a way to determine if the features they took part in are active in the live server. Or perhaps, if one they tested was implemented in the new server. There are many things that are still half-baked (not in the sense of the movie), but just not fully implemented yet.

There are two major improvement that are readily apparent from the move from the sandbox to the public server: the speed and the stability. The dev sandbox would crash firefox 3.5.x (or other browsers) all the time, and especially when loading immense (500+) conversations. I have not had one crash since moving to the live server and the speed is noticeably quicker. But, at the same time there are things that are not on the public version yet. Although, I the conversations are loaded with back and forth tips on when pieces are going to be added or that they are added, but not easy to discover (kinda when things are still in test mode). There are waves with lists and lists of robots, gadgets, and extensions. There are waves with things like Tweety (sign up here at Twitter), and

There are tags to make things easier, and there are public urls for many of the conversations, which means that you can partake in any of them without having a wave invite! Thanks to Bloggy and other extensions.

There are many social waves out there as well. Things like Cities: Chicago -- In fact I head about the cities elimination from the olympic 2016 rounds via a wave. There are linux waves, and waves for sports. The social dynamics are rather interesting, and will certainly have to be figured out more than we have been. If you look at the following example you wil understand a little more. On large social waves there are rules that are chosen for that wave. As it opens to more public individuals there will be levels of privacy issues, security issues, and controls which will have to be hammered out. This is especially the case for federated servers and when waves are merged or copied anew.

Welcome to the Nonprofit Wave.

Discussion Group: WaveDiscuss

Your wave has been added to this group please read this explanation (no bots have been added)

This wave is for anyone who works with, volunteers for, or whom is interested in nonprofit organizations. Come here to play around with Google Wave, meet people, and share your learning.

Rules:

(1) DO NOT Erase the Welcome Message.

(2) DO NOT Add Bots, like Twitbot, etc. to the wave. They are near impossible to remove, and may cause the wave to crash or have to be deleted.

(3) WE ARE a public wave, this may mean spam. Spam messages can be deleted. Once people feel comfortable, we can create a private space if necessary.

(4) PLEASE test an application on your own wave, before attempting to add to this wave.

(5) COURTESY is a requirement NOT a request. Please treat each other with respect.

Note:

(1) @usernames now work in this wave. They will link back to a user's Twitter account if used.

As you can see there is lots of respect and honor code occurring on Google Waves. It is being sorted out as more are joining. But it is very interesting to watch history like this transforming.

Here is a wonderful example by Eliott and Jorge on the process. As I was reviewing it they were discussing changes actively. This meant that I was able to see their corrections and changes.

This is an example of what is currently happening on google wave's more focused waves:

Moderating Your Waves

This wave is moderated. Please follow these rules when contributing!

Currently, there are no ACLs in Google's Wave server, nor in Google's web Wave–client. This means that if you give anybody access to your wave, they can do anything they want to it—edit your IB (initial blip), add tags, change the title, even delete messages… and possibly worst of all, invite anybody they want to do all of those things.

Since you can also make a wave 'public,' that is, give access to the entirety of the Google Wave preview group, these can become catastrophic problems.

Many standards, or suggestions for standards, are emerging in these first few days and weeks of public access to Google Wave, and here I'd like to propose (possibly temporarily) another such standard…one to mitigate the lack of programmatic ACLs.

This standard is moderation.

A 'moderated' wave is a wave that the IBA (initial blip author, or the person who created the wave in the beginning) has declared to be, in some way, restricted. For instance, the IBA could declare their wave to be reply–moderated, meaning they will restrict how and when people are allowed to reply (for instance, instructing people to reply in a "separate discussion wave", as the "Google Wave Etiquette wave" has)… or he could make his wave edit–moderated, meaning perhaps that readers should not edit the IB, or possibly that they shouldn't edit any blip in the wave without explicit permission.

In general, if some aspect of wave participation (replying, editing, deleting, etc) is declared to be 'moderated,' you should not perform that action on that wave, or you will make people (likely the IBA) angry.

Moderation types and tags

The major operations that should be moderated are editing, replying, and deleting. In general, any moderation of these operations applies to the entire wave; though sometimes it could only apply to the initial blip.

When you declare one of your waves to be moderated, you add a tag to your wave, and optionally add a note to your IB, linking to this wave, to explain/remind readers of your chosen form of moderation.

tag:moderated

The simplest moderation tag, this form of moderation is intended for serious discussions that are open to the public or many members, but which the IBA still wants to keep clean and purposeful.

General:

you may not edit the title of the wave (the first line of text in the IB) in any way

you may not add tags to the wave… instead, you should consider replying with a blip suggesting a good tag for the discussion, that the IBA can then add or approve you to add

you may not delete tags from the wave

you may add real people to the wave… but be aware of the etiquette of adding people to waves without asking them privately first

you may not add bots, groups, or special participants (such as public@a.gwave.com) to the wave

you may use any gadget previously utilized in the wave… but keep gadgetry to a minimum, and only use it where appropriate. If in doubt… ask!

you may not use any gadget that hasn't yet been added to the wave

Editing:

you may not edit the wording or style of other peoples' blips

you may not edit the grammar of other peoples' blips

you may edit the spelling of other peoples' blips

you may edit the content of your own blips, after the discussion has moved on… though standard etiquette considerations apply, and you should be careful not to appear to be trying to do something sneaky.

Replying:

you may create inline replies

you may reply to the wave… but you should expect off–topic threads of conversation to be pruned regularly, to keep the wave full of primarily useful/relevant content.

Deleting:

you may not delete other peoples' blips

you may not delete your own blips… as they may contribute to/be essential to the discussion at hand (though, if you make a stupid mistake, the IBA who is moderating the wave will most likely delete it for you)

tag:edit-moderated

A moderation tag intended for original content published in an IB… no restrictions are placed on replies or deleting of replies, only the IB's content is moderated.

General:

you may not edit the tags on the wave… the tags on a wave usually correspond to the IB, and thus are considered part of it for the purposes of permissions to change them

you may not delete tags on the wave

you may add participants (real people, bots, groups, and special participants) to the wave… but be aware of the etiquette of adding people to waves without asking them privately first, and never add destructive bots (in general, avoid adding bots unless you know it's a useful/good idea, especially in these early, unstable days of Wave)

you may use any gadget… but be aware of the etiquette around doing so!

Editing:

you may not edit the IB… if you want to suggest changes to the document contained in the IB, you should do so in a reply.

Replying:

you may create inline-replies to the IB… but only to suggest changes or argue the document, and you can expect the replies to be deleted as soon as they are resolved

Deleting:

you may not delete the IB

tag:reply-moderated

Designed for complex topics, where the IBA intends to create a seperate, or possibly multiple seperate, disscussion waves seperate from the moderated wave; if you want to comment on or talk about the content of this wave, you should do so in a seperate wave (probably the one linked from the IB).

General:

you may not edit the title of the wave (the first line of text in the IB) in any way

you may add tags to the wave

you may not delete tags from the wave

you may not add participants (real people, bots, groups, and special participants) to the wave

you may use any gadget previously utilized in the IB… but keep gadgetry to a minimum, and only use it where appropriate. If in doubt… ask!

you may not use any gadget that hasn't yet been added to the IB

Editing:

you may edit the IB… unless otherwise stated, of course

Replying:

you may not create inline–replies to the IB

you may not reply to the wave

Deleting:

you may not delete the IB

tag:locked

The most severe form of moderation, this is intended for waves not intended for contribution/editing of any form, such as heavy–dispersal 'welcome waves,' informational waves, and so on. If a wave is tagged as locked, you really shouldn't touch it at all.

General:

you may not add tags to the wave

you may not delete tags from the wave

you may not add participants (real people, bots, groups, and special participants) to the wave

Editing:

you may not edit the IB

Replying:

you may not create inline–replies to the IB

you may not reply to the wave

Deleting:

you may not delete the IB

Closing notes

The overriding intention of this standard (or, rather, proposed standard, I guess) is to help improve the signal–vs.–noise ratio of public waves on Google's Wave server. Following these rules helps everybody enjoy these public waves more, and in general get more useful information out of them; so please, please respect the wishes of the IBAs who tag their waves with these forms of moderation.

Of course, these are not hard rules, and cannot be enforced beyond the IBA deleting the blips of authors who disobey; and I understand that this standard cannot be enforced. The reasons for laying out the rules anyway are threefold:

Help good–natured editors to realize the intentions of the IBA, without adding a lot of fluff to each and every wave describing said intentions (since they usually fall into one of the above categories)

Warn editors that the IBA can, and will, actively police the content of the wave, deleting blips that he doesn't think are contributory or relevant

Provide a common notice at the top of many waves that links to these rules, thus allowing uninformed ('newbie') editors to educate themselves on the etiquette of editing that wave

Obviously, anything here can be overridden by the IBA; if you're writing a wave and want to go into more detail about your wishes regarding contribution/moderation, I very much suggest you add a one–line note at the top of your IB with a link back to this wave (the wave ID is googlewave.com!w+qAbwoITGc, if you're trying to add a link), and then add an inline blip at the end of that line with more details. That way, once a visitor has read your instructions, they can minimize the inline blip and focus on the content of your IB, and that of the entire wave, instead of this meta–data. (Here's how I implement this, I don't think it messes with the signal/noise of the blip too much:

Neat note: You can search for partial tags seperated by dashes, so tag:moderated will list all moderated waves, whether they're tagged as tag:reply-moderated or tag:edit-moderated or just tag:moderated!

Also, if you will note at the bottom of the viewport, this wave itself is tagged 'moderated,' so feel free to reply and let me know what you think! I'm also interested if any of you think these instructions/rules should be modified.
-----

Update: People have expressed concern that Google isn't interested in a Wave client/server protocol existing; that is not the case. Google's Wave team had more important (in their eyes) things to be working on, so they simply threw together whatever worked at the time; but they've stated in various places that they're interested in, and willing to implement, whatever client/server protocol the community can come up with.

----------

Well, enough for now. I will be sure to make smaller posts in the future on select topics and chatter in the wave platform. I have got to get to bed so I can eventually get back to my art. I am definitely going to work on a Google wave art piece pretty soon. I have begun the early stages of creation. Watch for updates on that special piece.

Feel free to send me a quick email and I'll send you a coupon for an amazing discount on my art, and when the lithographs are printed for the Google art piece I will will be happy to let you know.

Chicago's Marshall Fields Clock Painting

"Our goal is to demonstrate that Chicago would like Marshall Field's back not only in name but also in service and quality," said Jim McKay, the group's head and an adjunct associate professor of architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago. "It's a Chicago icon." (From: Chicago Tribune)

This was the quote from the group that demonstrated against Macy's, one year after the purchase of Marshall Fields. Marshall Fields was like Woolworth was when it vanished. Loved for the quality, name, loyalty, sense of family it created within Chicagoan's. Unlike the rivalry with the White Sox and Cubs Sports teams, between the South and the North sides of the city Marshall Fields was cherished by all. It was iconic and stood proud in the center downtown.

It is only befitting for the launch of our website at Exclusive Canvas Art (ExclusiveCanvasArt.com) with this amazing painting of the Clock on the outside of the old Marshall Fields building. The green and blue are juxtaposed by the complementary red color of the American Flag. It's thick impasto colors almost create a bas relief effect within the painting itself. The grand Chicago skyline can be glimpsed through the taught bars of the clock and the rust drips from clocks attachment point to the old building as if to lament the new owners who have still not done anything with the old Marshall Fields name. Of course, this painting's lithographs will remain on sale until the web-site is complete, therefore if you love it please jump right over and make a quick purchase as this price will certainly be gone the minute we are done clearing all the fumes from our painting studio, and have the website completed and in pristine shape.(Painting Link)

This amazing painting of Marshall Fields Clock, which is sure to bring back memories or create new ones, is available at the really low sale price for a small lithograph on classic textured lithographed paper, or the front lit pearl-flecked paper which lends a gorgeous luminosity to the painting, and a spectacular back lit semi frosted/transparent paper which if added to a contemporary dual pane glass and allows the light to filter in from behind (target.com) creates the most ethereal quality.

Of course, you are always welcome to send proposals for custom commissions.
